A Privileged Boyhood
Author:
Alexander McRobbie Price: £5.99

Not for the sqeamish or prudish, A Privileged Boyhood is Alex McRobbie's gritty autobiography of his 1930s upbringing in the Cowcaddens slums. The 312 pages are split into 32 bedtime-sized chapters, with all human life (and a bit of death too) between the covers. Although practically ignored by the UK press, it received rave reviews in Australia where the author now lives. One private customer liked it so much she bought another nineteen copies to send to her friends, and we'd be very surprised if you didn't thoroughly enjoy it too. As well as life in the Cowcaddens, the book includes Alex McRobbie's wartime service and travels to Malaysia, Singapore and Australia.
